From Green Islands to Blue Oceans — Leading the Maldives into a Sustainable Future
Our Journey
The journey of SDM Ventures began with SDM Farm in 2019, founded by brothers Saddam Ali and Abdulla Ali on Kaashidhoo Island. Their shared goal was to revive native flora, reduce dependence on imported plants, and promote environmental sustainability.
In 2022, SDM Farm launched the Agriboat, a first-of-its-kind supply initiative delivering fresh vegetables, fruits, and plants from Kaashidhoo to three islands in Kaafu Atoll — improving local food access and agricultural trade.
By 2023, SDM Farm produced and planted 50,000 native trees for the Bank of Maldives Fehi Project across five islands from north to south, proudly contributing to the nation's largest reforestation campaign. Over the years, SDM Farm has donated thousands of plants in partnership with organizations such as ARK (Advocating the Rights of Children), Clean Maldives, Island Councils, schools, government SOEs, and other community groups.
With a vision to scale these successes, SDM Ventures Pvt Ltd was formally established in 2024, expanding operations beyond agriculture into mariculture and eco-tourism — bringing both green and blue sustainability dreams into reality.
